The So Stobo Luxury Walking Break 2025
We’re fortunate to be surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in Scotland and there’s no better way to explore the area than with experienced guides, whilst also enjoying the benefits of a luxury spa break!
Day 1
2.45pm: A warm welcome.
3.45pm: Meet and greet your fellow walkers in our Main Reception area.
4.00pm: INTRODUCTORY WALK – River Tweed and Stobo Kirk
Approx. 4 miles/1.5 hours flat terrain on drove roads with some gradual hill climbs.
Enjoy use of the spa facilities and dinner (please book from 7.00pm onwards).
Day 2
Full Scottish Breakfast
9.15am: Taxis to Peebles leave from Main Reception. Remember your camera!
JOHN BUCHAN WAY – PART 1: 8 miles
Peebles to Stobo Castle. A mixture of flat ground, hills and gradual climbing through the valley. Rough grass, heather, drove roads and approx. 1.5 miles on the road.
Walking time is approx. 4 hours with refreshment stops.
Returning to the Castle for lunch at 1.30pm.
Enjoy use of the spa facilities and dinner.
Day 3
Full Scottish Breakfast
9.15am – Taxis to Broughton leave from Main Reception.
JOHN BUCHAN WAY – PART 2: 6 miles (Option to increase to 7.5 miles)
Broughton to Stobo Castle. Uphill at the start for about 1.5 miles then a mixture of climbs and descents through the valley, flat terrain and drove roads back to the Castle.
Approx. walking time is 2.5 to 3.5 hours.
Late checkout if required
1.00pm: Lunch and a fond farewell.
